The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) was founded in 1880 to honour artists in Ottawa at the National Gallery of Canada. Today, the RCA is comprised of members who have made significant arts and cultural contributions from across the nation.
Each year the RCA invites new Academicians to the RCA; Edmonton is the host of the 2014 annual assembly of members. Academicians to the RCA represent excellence across a broad range of artistic disciplines, from painters, sculptors and architects, to film, photography, design and the crafts.
The exhibition at Enterprise Square is to showcase the diverse range of Edmonton-area artists and architects who have been inducted into the RCA, and recognized for their significant cultural impact to Alberta and the nation at large.
