Hours and Admissions


The AGA is open Wednesday to Sunday. Admission is accepted until 30 minutes before closing.


Wednesday: 11am-5pm

Friday: 11am-5pm
Saturday: 11am-5pm
Sunday: 11am-5pm
 

The AGA is pleased to offer free admission from 4 to 7pm on the last Thursday of every month.

+Validated ETS ticket passes, paper tickets and transfers, day passes or Arc Card apply for the same day admission only, and is not valid with any other AGA special event, promotion or discounted admission. Free admission applies to ETS riders who are Alberta students or under the age of 18. Proof of age or student status required.

++ Must present valid The Citadel Theatre Season Ticket Holder card of the current year at Member and Guest Services. Free admission applies to cardholders who are Alberta students or under the age of 18. Proof of age or student status required.

+++ Any Albertan who has been displaced by the recent wildfires can inform Guest Services that they are an evacuee and enjoy a day of art at no cost.  

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult. 

By purchasing or using a ticket to the Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA), you agree to the following terms and conditions: 

1. Admission 

  • A ticket grants one-time entry to the AGA during public hours on the date specified unless stated otherwise. 
  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable unless an event is canceled or rescheduled by the AGA. 
  • Visitors must retain their ticket for the duration of their visit and present it upon request. 

2. Conduct and Compliance 

  • Visitors must comply with the AGA’s Visitor Guidelines. Failure to do so may result in removal from the premises without a refund. 
  • Disruptive, discriminatory, or abusive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in refusal of entry or removal. 

3. Photography and Filming 

  • Photography and filming are permitted in most areas (except the stairwell) for personal, non-commercial use, provided there is no flash, tripods, monopods, or selfie sticks. 
  • In certain exhibitions or areas, photography and filming are not allowed. Restrictions will be clearly posted and must be respected. 
  • Professional or commercial photography and filming require prior approval from the AGA. 

4. Safety and Security 

  • The AGA reserves the right to inspect bags and personal belongings upon entry. Prohibited items, including large bags, weapons, and flammable materials, are not allowed. 
  • Visitors are responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings. The AGA is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged items. 

5. Accessibility and Accommodations 

  • The AGA is committed to ensuring accessibility for all visitors. If you require special accommodations, please contact Guest Services in advance. 
  • Service animals are welcome; however, pets are not permitted. 

6. Refunds and Cancellations 

  • Refunds are issued only if the AGA cancels an event or closes unexpectedly. 

7. Emergencies 

  • Visitors must follow AGA staff instructions in case of emergencies, including evacuations. 

8. Rights Reserved by the AGA 

  • The AGA reserves the right to: 
  • Refuse entry or remove individuals who violate these terms. 
  • Modify exhibitions, hours of operation, or programming without prior notice.

Accessibility
