Now in its 14th year, 5 Artists 1 Love is a stunning, annual African History Month celebration of the vibrancy and artistic range of Edmonton’s African-Canadian communities, from Angola to Zanzibar, Togo to Tobago, or Brazil to Barbados! The phenomenal art exhibition showcases the dynamic beauty of the global African diaspora through art, design, music and poetry. It promotes emerging and established artists, develops global African arts and cultures, and celebrates African-Canadian brilliance. This year, the program also incorporates our own musical version of "the Tiny Desk Series," which will be performed at the Exhibition Launch on February 8.
A long standing 5 Artists 1 Love tradition is “The Wall.” Every year, a wall of the exhibition is dedicated to works submitted by anyone from the general public on a unified theme. This inclusive part of the showcase has garnered outstanding feedback and growing interest. This year’s “The Wall” theme is Afrofuturism: Black To The Future.
